Mark Cooper is a seasoned businessman and entrepreneur who has owned several small businesses during his career. As an undergraduate at the FAMU/FSU College of Engineering, he ran his own carpentry business, building lofts for student housing, making cabinets, and building custom-designed furniture. Mark graduated in 1992 and began working for a private engineering firm, first as an intern, and later working his way to Vice President of the company. During that time, he also owned and managed two companies of his own: Coop's Etc., which provided personal computer services, and Tallahassee Color Graphics & Digital Document Storage, a multi-faceted graphics art business. In April 2006, Mark joined with Carmen Green and Drew Robertson to form Blackhawk Engineering.Student Development Program
Mark has over eighteen years of experience in civil and structural engineering. He developed a computer program for wind load analysis that quickly and accurately calculates the wind load requirements for most residential structures. He has designed numerous foundations, retaining walls, concrete and wood structures, pilings, and other structural elements. He is also proficient in site planning and permitting, stormwater modeling and analysis, and project design and management.
